A Short Review of Sony’s Current Camcorders
Unveiled in early 2009, the Sony HDR-XR100 is weighted with attributes common to the Sony HDR-CX100 like face detection, Smile Shutter and even the common lens, barring that this piece of kit is a hard-drive based piece of equipment, owns 5.1 channels for sound and maybe, does not appear as pretty looking.
Despite the fact that boasting the same lens and is robust and will definitely outlive its warranty, it is too disappointing for a low-end camera taking into consideration the video quality on these two gadgets are not the same. The video quality on the Sony HDR-XR100 appears to be a bit soft, even when it isn’t blown up on a huge screen, and its outdoor shots without question seem a little low on contrast with blown-out highlights.
